Achievements

This project utilizes an entire human-centered design process, which includes discovery, ideation, testing, and delivery.

An all-inclusive meditation experience for both beginner and experienced meditators with personalized progress tracks.

OUR WHY

As we encounter a new process, we often experience resistance. We tend to question ourselves, "Will this approach work for me? Is this the optimal solution? What if I am incorrect?" If we are unable to answer these questions, then initiating the process becomes even more challenging.

Why aren't more people using mediation apps to develop their practice?

  • "If you don’t believe in it, you won’t make time for it." (Meditation Statistics, Mellow.com)
  • "It’s unclear how to overcome the learning curve." (Mindfulness Apps: How Well Do They Work?, Harvard Health Publishing)
  • "Measuring your success is non-existent." (Evaluating Mindfulness Meditation Apps, Lancaster University)

Let's hear from those with meditation experience

“When sessions build upon each other, the lessons start to connect and you can put it all together”

“It would be nice to have the option to select certain sessions or categories based on my needs"

“I pursued meditation to see if I could improve my overall mental performance”

“It’s more about learning the benefits, rather than feeling them”

How might we

Help individuals feel accomplished

Guide individuals at a pace that is challenging and comfortable

Provide individuals the freedom to control their learning journey

UX Treatment

The insights provided by users and data clarified the focus of the app and its impact on users.

Wireflows

Establishing the red-routes would allow me to focus on specific steps the users would take to accomplish their goals. This step allowed me to view the complexity of each step a user take, along with the opportunity to analyze the most critical elements.

Site Map

The userflows and sitemap were extremely valuable before I started to conceptualize the product. These deliverables were going to inform the design and support the overall navigation.

Sketching

Sketching is such a fun lo-fi exercise that allows me to explore different ideas quickly.

Wireframes

The wireframes allow me to visualize various user journeys in a mid-fidelity state.

Outcomes

After receiving and incorporating feedback from user testing, I firmly believe that the final outcome alleviates some of the challenges first-time meditators face.

Freedom to explore relevant courses.

Providing various meditation categories that meet a user's need in any given moment.

Achieving meditation milestones.

Helping individuals feel a sense of accomplishment after completing lessons.

Giving users the freedom to learn at their own pace

Some people learn quickly, others learn slowly. Why not try to meet them where they're at?
